Getting there
Closest point to drive and park is on unsealed roads only that are not may not be passable when wet, from there it is via the water to this the campsite GPS: -29.61752, 151.40666 The campsite is signposted. Drive along Kings Plains Road then turn onto the Jindalee Road, then turn west into the park on the service road, north of King Plains Creek.
You will need to walk a short distance from your car to the campsite – no caravans or camper trailers

Closed areas: Ironbark camping area closed
The area in Kings Plains NP known locally as Ironbark camping area will be closed from Thursday 1 June 2023 until further notice, to allow for works to install facilities so that this area can be used as a formal campground.
The tent-only campground in the park, Kings Plains Creek campground, remains open during these works, and bookings remain essential.

National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) will commence a 1080 ground and aerial baiting program on the 24th April to 31st July 2023 on the following reserves:

The operations will use a combination of manufactured and meat baits containing 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of wild dogs and foxes. Signs will be placed at the entry to all the baiting locations. Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW National Parks managed lands. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting locations. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.
